One of the strategic objectives of Whyteleafe Village Council is to make Whyteleafe a prettier and more aesthetically pleasing village. This includes more litter bins to help keep the streets and parks clean and tidy, increased road sweeping, hanging baskets, Christmas lights, a Christmas tree and the Jubilee Garden opposite Whyteleafe School. Over the last few months, we have been in discussion with Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) to explore how we can make our two stations more attractive and welcoming. We are excited to inform you that Whyteleafe Village Council, supported by the Whyteleafe Community Hub, is looking to adopt Whyteleafe and Whyteleafe South stations, in partnership with GTR. The village councillors and volunteers are considering various projects as part of these station adoptions, particularly those that would help bring our residents and businesses closer together and make our community stronger. We are looking for artists, designers and gardeners to volunteer to help us with school art projects, planted troughs and other flower planting schemes. If you have ideas of your own you will be most welcome to join in, regardless of your skill level, time availability or age. Email me at the address below and I shall put you in touch with this exciting project. Cllr.m.jones@whyteleafevillagecouncil.gov.uk www.whyteleafevillagecouncil.gov.uk
