Join our community game changers at the Whyteleafe Village Assembly

By Dr. Marcus Jones, chairman, Whyteleafe Village Council

First and foremost, we extend our gratitude to the Whyteleafe Gardening Group volunteers for planting over 8,000 daffodil bulbs over the last two years. Wordsworth himself would have marvelled at the enchanting display of blooms in our village. Thanks too to all our wonderful volunteers for everything you do, each day, to make our village so special.

On behalf of our community, I am delighted to invite you to one of the most anticipated events of the year – the Annual Village Assembly! This is a wonderful opportunity for you to be part of something special and witness the remarkable achievements of our vibrant community at an evening filled with inspiration, connection, and a shared vision for the future.

The Whyteleafe Annual Village Assembly will take place at St. Lukes Church, Whyteleafe Hill, CR3 0AA, on Monday, 14 April 2025 at 19:00.

This is also an opportunity to meet your village councillors and discuss issues that are important to you, such as the government’s devolution strategy – with unitary authorities replacing county, district and borough councils – and the implications for Whyteleafe.

We hope to have representatives from lots of local organisations, such as our local football club AFC Whyteleafe, Caterham & Whyteleafe Tennis Club, Whyteleafe Food Bank, the Whyteleafe Befriending Group, the Knitting Ninjas, the Whyteleafe Hub Events Group, the Whyteleafe Gardening Group, and the Friday Lunch Club.

If you help run a local charity group or voluntary organisation and would be interested in having a stand as well, please get in touch before 12 March.

We would like to see you all in April for a friendly chat and to hear what is happening in Whyteleafe, and the ideas you may have on how we can keep improving our village. Feel free to get in touch, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
