Lingfield College officially opened its newly refurbished Senior School dining hall in February, marking a milestone in the school’s ongoing development. Staff, students and key project partners attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony, where headteacher Richard Bool spoke about the significance of investing in the school’s facilities.
The new hall is spacious and inviting, with a contemporary design and natural lighting that offers a more relaxed and sociable atmosphere for the students. It incorporates energy-efficient lighting and ventilation, which ensures a comfortable environment while reducing long-term operating costs.
The servery areas and counters have undergone a makeover, giving a restaurant-style experience that includes modern dedicated hot food stations, hot soups, a fresh salad bar and a dessert station. The redevelopment also included the kitchen, giving the catering staff a more practical and spacious place to work.

The redevelopment was made possible through a collaboration with Uprise, who managed the project; Habitat+ architects, who designed the space; and Catersales, who supplied high-quality catering equipment for the interiors.
Richard Bool said:
“This redevelopment is more than just a refurbishment: it’s a re-imagining of what school dining should be. Mealtimes are an important part of the school day, offering students and staff a chance to recharge, socialise, and enjoy healthy food in a comfortable setting. This investment makes that possible.”
