A month-long amnesty scheme asking people to hand in zombie-style knives and machetes to police without questions being asked was launched on 26 August.
The items, which will be illegal to possess, sell, manufacture and transport from 24 September under changes made the Criminal Justice Act 1988, can be handed in to Caterham Police Station on Timber Hill Road until 23 September, with lawful owners able to claim compensation for them in most cases, if their total value is more than £30.
Guildford Police Station and Staines Police Station are also taking part in the scheme. Find out more, including how to safely and legally handle the items while travelling to the police station.
