If the idea of spending your work time researching golden beaches, luxury hotels and fascinating sightseeing trips appeals, our column this month may well be the start of your new career!
We love travelling, so when we realised that becoming independent travel agents meant that not only could we help friends, families and clients book amazing holidays but that we were also able to book our own trips AND earn commissions on them, it was an easy decision to jump right in.
We now spend our time finding exciting new travel ideas, working with great suppliers and sharing our fabulous finds with our clients (and taking advantage of them ourselves as well…) – we don’t mean to sound smug, but it could well be the perfect job!
So, could it be the ideal role for you, too? Just in case you need a little more persuading, let us tell you about the other advantages of becoming your own boss in this wonderful industry.
It’s a flexibility thing
The nature of the business means we can work from anywhere: our home, coffee shops, hotels, beach bars…You name it: if there’s an internet connection, we can work there! We can also choose our own hours, making it simple to fit around other commitments. You can be an early bird or a night owl, whichever suits you best.
It’s a community thing
We have an outstanding team who book all the travel arrangements that we organise for our clients, and we love working with them. The independent travel agent community is also really helpful: there is always somebody to answer our questions or suggest an idea, and we enjoy being part of it.
It’s a ‘making dreams come true’ thing
We know from conversations with our clients and our own personal experience that choosing a holiday without guidance can often be overwhelming: there’s so much choice out there. There are also a lot of extras to remember, such as visas, insurance, booking flights, hotel transfers…the list is long and time-consuming, and can be off-putting.
One of the great things about being an independent travel agent is that we live and breathe this stuff, and can make even the most ambitious travel plans easy for our clients. It’s really rewarding to be able to take their worries away: all they have to do is tell us what they want, and we’ll do the rest. Our personal touch and attention to detail will ensure that everything runs smoothly.

If you need a side-hustle, want to start a new business or simply lovel travel, this is for you. It’s a great opportunity to earn uncapped residual and passive income and, although there’s a small cost to get started (which includes your training), we made that back within one month of getting up and running!
We think you can probably tell how much we love what we do, and we’d like the opportunity to tell you more. We’re holding a coffee morning on Wednesday, 22 May where you can ask us any questions you might have: email us on kimcooper99@gmail.com or katharine@luxetravellers.com to book your place.
And if you would like some help finding your next awesome holiday, please get in touch – we can’t wait to help you on your way!
