Old Cats women now train Monday evenings from 7.30-9pm at Old Cats Rugby club, CR3 6AH.
Women’s fixtures are yet to be sent out from the RFU, however we are still maintaining training whilst we can in accordance with Covid-19 government guidance.
Recent sessions have included training alongside Dorking RFC which were incredible matches!
Awards for season 2019/20 were given out with Emma Stephenson given ‘Player of the Year’, Aimie Davies ‘Captains player of the Season’ and Lucie Warren given ‘Club Colours’. Flowers were given to Team manager Barbara Wagstaff for her continued efforts and commitment to the team and flowers were also given to Jill Baker, the Old Cats Chair for her outstanding contributions to the club.
We are in unprecedented times and being able to train together has been a great way to connect with team mates through what has been a difficult year for many. Rugby has a positive impact on overall fitness and wellbeing, including mental health which is something we are proactive about as a team and continue to raise awareness of, particularly at a time where people have been isolated.
