After being closed for a few months, both the animals and staff at Godstone Farm have been delighted to welcome back visitors:
"We're just hoping that some of the beautiful weather we've been experiencing hangs around all summer, so we can really make the most of entertaining those families who have opted for a holiday at home. During August we are introducing some animal encounters, such as pig feeding and duck feeding, back into our schedule, plus we have some new residents to introduce you too as well.
If you thought skunks were smelly then come and meet our furry friend Humbug: you'll soon realise that's just not true! Humbug came to live on the farm in early July, at only eight weeks old. He has been hand-reared, meaning he loves to meet people and is even starting to learn how to play. He will be starting to meet our visitors during August and is already a firm favourite with the staff.
All the time we were closed the feeding and cleaning of our animals didn't stop, but we also paid a lot of attention to ensuring we could re-open in a COVID safe way. So far we've received brilliant feedback on our process and we were already well set up for handwashing, of course, so some things just aren't new!
In addition to our usual protocols, we now only take bookings online, we stagger entry times to a reduced capacity and have a suggested route around the farm to help manage flows. It goes without saying that cleaning regimes have been increased and with our huge outdoor play area, it's great that we don't have to compromise the experience due to rules and regulations.
Next up, we are closely following guidance to see how and when indoor play areas may re-open. At the moment its quite uncertain but we'll let you know as soon as we have more information.
Enjoy your summer! If you've been thinking about a visit to the farm, we're ready when you are."
