Caterham WI – February 2020

Caterham WI has enjoyed another successful year of meetings full of fun, laughter and a wide range of activities from ceramic painting to belly dancing! Last week was their Annual Meeting where they appointed the committee for the year ahead. Sadly the current President Caroline Wallis is stepping down after a brilliant 3 years in charge. She will be succeeded by the new President Steph Couch who has been a member since the very first meeting in January 2015 when the queue for interested women of Caterham went out the door and into the car park! Steph said she ‘is honoured to be taking over and carrying on Caroline’s hard work and knows that her Great Grandma would be so proud of her!’

Caterham WI are always pleased to have new members join them and invite you to come as a guest to see if their group is for you! They meet on the third Wednesday of the month at the URC church in Caterham Valley at 7:15pm. There is no prerequisite to be able to bake and make jam as the WI is often known for; they are a friendly bunch of women of all ages who meet once a month to chat, learn, eat cake and have the occasional glass of wine with friends.
We started 2020 off on the right step with a talk on decluttering which was thoroughly enjoyed and left everyone feeling motivated for the year ahead!
Our next meeting is Wednesday 19th February with a Yoga talk and demonstration with local yoga instructor Katerina Arnold. For further information please contact us on email or Facebook.
