The Curry Leaf in Old Coulsdon were winners of two awards at the 9th annual Asian Curry Awards, which were organised by the Asian Catering Federation (ACF) and the Federation of Bangladeshi Caterers UK.
The event, which took place on 17 November at The Grosvenor Hotel in London, was hosted by Yawar Khan, Chairman of the Asian Catering Federation, while speakers included London mayor Sadiq Khan and Call Beaton and over 700 guests attended from across the country.
Voted for by over 100,000 members of the public, the panel of judges included Pat Chapman, from The Cobra Good Curry Guide, who travelled across the country to select the winners in each category.
The Curry Leaf left the ceremony with chef Farous Ahmed Bablu being named Chef of the Year (London suburbs), as well as a Highly Commended Restaurant 2019 award.
