Ruben’s Fund update

In our June edition we reported on Ruben’s Fund, an Oxted-based campaign raising money to fund a vital £200k research project through the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital Charity. It was set up earlier this year by Charlotte Dyer and Patrick Jones, in memory of their baby son Ruben, who died in January from dilated cardiomyopathy and complications caused by Covid. When the article was published, Ruben’s Fund had raised just over £34,000.

We’re delighted to announce that the campaign has now reached £40,000 – an amazing achievement in just three and a half months of fundraising.

Mum Charlotte has thanked everybody who has donated, and those who have helped her arrange recent fundraising events:

“We have achieved 20 per cent of our target within four months! It’s more than I could have ever imagined, and it’s down to the compassion and generosity of our community.”
