Clubs will not face charges for using local parks

Following our June report regarding Tandridge District Council imposing charges on sports clubs using local parks, the council has now clarified its position:

“Caterham Pumas, and other not-for-profit groups, can use our parks for free, if they use their own equipment and don't use our marked-out pitches. If they use our marked-out pitches and goals, they will need to book them before use and pay a fee, which they can do on our website. All groups using our parks and open spaces must also ensure they have public liability insurance and have completed a risk assessment."
