Young artist raising money for Ukraine

Caterham School student Rianna Patel, 15, has created a painting that she will be raffling to raise money for Ukrainian refugees.

Her mother Monica said:

“She wanted to do something to help after seeing recent news footage. The painting took her two days to complete and was all her own idea: she saw the lighthouse as a symbol of hope.”

Rianna’s artwork, entitled A Ray of Hope, is on display at The Gallery Caterham, on Godstone Road.

The raffle to win the painting is being held on 3 May to raise money: tickets can be purchased for £1 from the gallery, or from Vitaltone Pharmacy in The Square. All proceeds will go to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
