The library at Marden Lodge Primary School, Caterham, was ten books richer on World Book Day, thanks to The Morrisons Foundation and the National Literacy Trust.
In an initiative aimed at supporting reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, the partnership is donating over 5,000 books to school libraries across Great Britain. This is the fourth consecutive year they have teamed up to do this.
Jackie Bye, who is the Community Champion at Morrisons Caterham, delivered the books to Marden Lodge:
“I hope these stories will give the children some fun, as well as help them to find a love of reading.”
The Morrisons Foundation began in 2015 and has so far awarded over £35m to charities in England, Wales and Scotland to help improve people’s lives.
