A new charity has been established in Chaldon. The Chaldon Community Trust will follow on from the success of Chaldon Cares, the initiative set up during the first lockdown to provide support to local people.
The Trust’s first projects will be to organise the village hall and village fete, and it will also be looking into the possibility of creating a new children’s playground. It is hoped the team will encourage the community to offer increased neighbourly support, similar to that which developed during the pandemic.
Chaldon Community Trust will be formally launched at Chaldon Village Hall, 95 Rook Lane, on Friday 25 February at 19:00. Residents are invited to attend.
There is still the opportunity to nominate someone to be on the Trust’s committee. For further information and application forms, contact Graham (CCT interim trustee) on 07956 962798 or qualitygb@aol.com.
