Everyone deserves a bit of joy and happiness, so why not join the Salvation Army in spreading some Christmas cheer? As part of their ‘Be a Star’ campaign, they are asking us to buy an extra gift and donate it to somebody who may not otherwise receive one this year. Gifts could include new toys and books for children aged between 0 and 16, alongside helpful family items such as shopping vouchers. Last Christmas, the Caterham Salvation Army gave over 770 bags of presents to local families, and they would love to match that again this year. Ailsa Flinders, part of the team at Caterham Salvation Army, says: “Last year, we made so many children happy: their smiles as we delivered the gifts were just incredible. By donating to our campaign, you give those who are struggling a day of joy.”
There will be donation points for new, unwrapped gifts at the Church Walk Shopping Centre, The Westway Centre and The Salvation Army until the end of November. Find out more at the Caterham Salvation Army Facebook page.
The team would also appreciate help with sorting, packing and delivering the gifts in December. Please contact Ailsa Flinders on 01883 330718 or via:
