Caterham Valley has a cauldron of free spooky surprises planned for half term.
The hocus pocus is woven around a new Halloween trail that takes families all around the town. With the help (or hindrance) of four visiting spooks, your mission is to hunt for vital ingredients needed by Wendy the scatty witch and Wilberforce the wizard to cook up their Halloween super-spell. But they won’t be able to do it without you!
The magic begins in Church Walk Shopping Centre, where young trailers meet the first of the characters – will it be Wendy or Wilberforce, Matilda (the ghost who’s scared of children) or perhaps sensible Bridget the Bat?
“It’s going to be as silly as it’s spooky and is guaranteed to raise lots of smiles,” said Andrew Browne, chairman of Caterham Valley for You, which is organising the trail. “We hope lots of youngsters will dress up and join in, and we’re planning some treats to thank them for helping make the magic work.”
Caterham Valley Halloween Trail runs between 11am and 4pm on Thursday October 28, Friday October 29 and Saturday October 30. Pick up your free sheets at the start of the trail in Church Walk Shopping Centre, or collect in advance from one of the pick-up points listed on the website.
In addition, Church Walk Shopping Centre is laying on a free pumpkin giveaway between 11am and 3pm on Saturday, October 30 (or whilst supplies last).
