Children's history writing competition – we have a winner!

The Caterham Independent Children's History Writing Competition 2021 has a winner! The judges were really impressed with the vivid way the writer brought their chosen story, the Great Fire of London, to life.
We will be meeting with them soon to award them their certificate and prize (a family ticket to see Horrible Histories Live on Stage at The Festival Theatre at Hever Castle, and the chance to review it for us) – and then we'll be able to reveal both them and their winning entry.

Until then, we'll leave you with a little teaser…here's the opening paragraph of Blazing Bakery

'My name is Hanna Farriner and I am a brave Londoner. Today I have been making delicious bread

with my old dad in his bakery. I am going to bed now, leaving my dad to turn the oven off as he does every night…'

(The scene is set, but you'll have to wait a little longer to read the rest!)

Congratulations to our winner – we're looking forward to meeting you.
