Time To Embrace The Positives

One year ago, everything was different. and now that i look back, i realise that a year can do a lot to a person
When I look back over the past year, I can see a turbulent time. A time that has seen me go through many emotions. Anxiety, depression, a feeling of doom, fatigue, sadness, and disbelief. I guess most people have felt like this. It’s the unknown. The changes in our everyday life. The shattered dreams and plans we had for 2020. The worry for ourselves and our loved ones.

But has it really been all negative?

2020 has given us time to think. Many have been able to spend more time with their children and nearest and dearest. I for one used to travel a great deal for business but that has stopped. I now work from home. Do I miss it? NO. Do I want to go back to that life? NO. Getting closer to nature has been amazing for me. During lockdown we have got to know our garden and our local area. We have discovered places on our own doorsteps, that we never knew existed. We have seen birds and wildlife that we never knew shared the same space as us. We have learned to love each other again. Appreciating everyone that has helped through this pandemic. Key workers, NHS staff to name just two.
But for me, and probably many people, this has been a time to reflect and plan for the future.

Let me ask you a question?
Whats the most important day of your life?

My answer is TODAY.
It’s the first day of the rest of our lives. We cannot change the past, but we can learn from it. Take all the positives you have learned over the past year and use them to plan your future. Set yourself goals for 2021 and work out the steps to get you there. 2020 may have been a disappointing year but using the learnings from 2020 will help you achieve your dreams.
