Gibbins won the last race of the season securing him the 2020 Sports 2000 Championship and consolidating his 100% win record in 2020. The wet weather conditions weren’t a deterrent for Michael who is highly skilled in these conditions. Upon completing his race he was keen to have a photo with ‘The Caterham and District Independent’ newspaper.
Michael explained “This has been a strange year to go racing in, but I can’t thank my sponsors, Croudace Homes, Champ Consultants, Computer Solutions and Surrey Strength and Performance, enough for sticking by me, they really do allow this to happen. It has also been a huge effort by my family to keep the car quick and reliable, and I am very grateful for all their efforts. This weekend has been the perfect way to sign off a perfect season, and I am already looking forward to getting back in a race car soon!
